This post is brought to you by the letter: 15-gne1

The fifteenth symbol of the Amharic alphabet is called Ñ  and the sound is the same than the letter Ñ  in Spanish but there is no equivalent sound in English. You can say that it sounds similar to the sound "nj" as in the word new but pronounced as a British person will do: "nju:". The printed letter and the handwritten letter are similar and they look as if we add to the previuous symbol 14-nahas1a small horizontal line to the top.
Here is the table with the printed letter, handwritten letter and pronunciation, and a few examples. The animations were made according to the instructions in the book Writing and Reading Amharic and the sounds are from the site Amharic Online. Phonetic symbols according to David Appleyard.
