Today I discovered a little app for the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad with the Amharic alphabet Feedel.
It’s very basic, only has the characters with the sounds but no example of them used in words, no numbers, or help on how to write them.
Children will probably find it boring, and adults that it’s not worth the $1.99 they charge for it.
This app is useful only if you want to have at hand a list of the symbols and their sound, but nothing else. I hope they add more things in the future…

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI really admire those folks who tried to develop such an app for apple gadgets. However, I believe as an option, the Geeze font should be integrated with the product if Apple considers us valuable consumers. I need to chat, email, txt, …in Amharic from my iphone to which I already paid, otherwise I’m not the right person for iphone or itouch. Hope, Android apps might work out to become better option. Till then, I go with my blackberry since iPhone is no better than a toy…
