Amharico. Nombre del mes: Adäy

Ya que estamos en el mes de Septiembre, el nombre que elgi es Adäy – አደይ, que es transliterado en letras latinas como ADEY.

Adey es el nombre de las margaritas amarillas (tambien llamadas Adey Abeba - Bidens Macroptera) que florecen en Septiembre/Octubre despues de la temporada de lluvias cuando el Año Nuevo Etiopie y la Fiesta de Meskel (Mäsk’äl - መሰቀል) llegan, es por eso que tambien son llamadas las flores de Meskel.
Es un nombre de niña y simboliza el cierre de una mala experiencia en la familia y la llegada de prosperidad y buena suerte.

Curiosamente existe tambien un nombre Adey que se usa en el mundo occidental y es de origen aleman, que es el diminutivo de Adelaida y significa “de clase noble”

There is no month called ‘adey’ The writer surely meant ’season of the year’ when spring emerges after the deluge of the rainy season. The sun fights out of the heavy clouds,seeds sprout, flowers bloom, the grass,the mountains and the horizon all turn green. The joy of the new year is coupled by the finding of the True
Cross. The clergy with all their glory and regalia sing and dance and pay homage to their King and defender of the Faith……..like
Teqetsel Tsigei, Haile selassie Atsegei….
The guragie christians return to their parents and elders with gifts to earn blessings….
…….yes it is a heady season of the year…

I didn’t say there was a month called Adey!!!
The purpose of these posts were to chose a name per month and explain its meaning!!
Name of the month means, a name of a PERSON per month.
