“Time passes slowly up here in the mountains,
We sit beside bridges and walk beside fountains,
Catch the wild fishes that float through the stream,
Time passes slowly when you’re lost in a dream.”
Time passes slowly by Bob Dylan
I wasn’t writing much for the blog because we are busy finishing up the little remodeling we are doing in the house and getting ready for the arrival of the children.
I’m trying not to forget anything and making lists of things I still need to get for home and to take to Ethiopia.
I’m trying to guess the clothes sizes that the kids need. To be on the safe side I have decided to take some small and some big.
According to the information we got about their height and weight, the children seem to be small, specially comparing with the American averages for their age.
The boy is almost 4, but still has a size Toddler 3. What is even more complicated is to guess the shoe size, so I have decided to take shoes sizes 7 and 8 and see there what fits. The baby girl is going to be much easier to dress.
I don’t know what other parents do but I prefer not to buy too many clothes, only what we will need for the trip and the first days at home. Once we are back we will look for better fitting clothes.
Any clothes and shoes that we take for the trip that doesn’t fit them we plan to leave at the orphanage for the children there.
Even though I’m pretty busy time is passing slowly. Days are long and I’m impatient to reach October 7th when we will have our court date.
I know that it’s close but time seems to have stopped. I’m sure it must be the same for other parents waiting to get their children and I’m also sure that once the children are here time will fly.
A little more than two weeks for the court date!! Yeah!

Dear Alicia,
I haven’t read much of your stories yet, but I’m very happy I found this blog because it’s the best option I could find on the internet to learn the Amharic alphabet! (which I’m doing bc my boyfriend is Ethiopian and studying hard to learn my language - but he doesn’t know about my efforts yet
)
So thanks veeeery much and good luck with your preparations!
