By now you already know that I like nature, art, and crafts. I sometimes go to a craft store and buy a bit of everything: beads, feathers, ribbons, fabric, etc, and then at home I make something out of it, usually for the children.
Lately I made two mobiles for Feven, one with flowers and the other with butterflies.
I always find something cute and cheap not only in craft stores but also at the dollar store or the thrift shop. I frequently make hair accessories, not to save money but because it is a good activity to share with Feven when we are together at home. After finishing them, I have plenty of leftovers that mostly can’t be used for anything else since they are too small.
What do I do with them? Instead of throwing them to the garbage, I give them a knew life, or you could say a new flight…
I have a couple of little wire baskets outside (the ones you use to cover the gutter drain holes) that I fill with the leftovers: fabric, threads, cotton, feathers and also lint from the dryer.
What’s the point? you should ask. Well, instead of going to waste, these leftovers will be part of many bird’s nests, in my backyard and beyond!
Yes, the birds like to use these little pieces of material for building their homes, and there is no doubt they will have very colorful nests!
