Yesterday, after coming back from the park with the three children and when I was multitasking between making lunch, changing Feven’s diaper, and taking out my soggy shoes after a tadpole hunting expedition, Feromsa asked me:
“Mom, Feromsa wants to draw!”.
”Can’t you just wait a minute, please?”, was my reply.
”Feromsa wants to draw!!!”
”Ok, ok, if you are in such a hurry ask your brother to give you some papers and the markers, I’m busy right now”.
Then I kept rushing from one thing to another and forgot about the whole subject. After about 10 minutes, Feromsa again called for my attention:
“Mom, Feromsa draw mom, dad, Dylan, Feven and Feromsa!”
”Ok, I will see it later, ok?”
”Mom, mom, look!”
Just to get him off my back I said: “Ok, show me”, and I grabbed the paper with the drawing…
And there it was… the first drawing of our family by Feromsa! He never drew people before, just mainly cars, trucks and buses.
But today after we returned from the park, he was in such a hurry to draw that he couldn’t wait, and what did he draw?
All of us as a family.
He left me without words (and feeling a little guilty from not paying attention the first time), we are a family now and he feels part of it:
