Since I have this project of learning Amharic, I’ve been experimenting with my iPod Touch to be able to have something easy and complete at hand.
Up to now I was using the iPod for the audio files and following the text with the book in my hands, but it is a little uncomfortable to carry around the book all the time.
So I’ve got the idea to prepare an mp4 with the audio and the text, so no matter where I go, I have everything at hand.
I only prepared something simple, since it takes quite a while to arrange all the different things. It’s only the image of the text with the audio so you can read while you listen and repeat.
If you want to try it, I uploaded an mp4 movie with the Unit 1 in two parts: Unit 1-a and Unit1-b of the Foreign Service Institute Course that is free to distribute. To download it just right click the above link.

Hola Alicia… grandioso tu sitio!
Ahora una sencilla pregunta: cómo se escribe mi nombre Carolina o Karo? vi tu nombre escrito y me encantó la grafía.Podrías responderme si fueras tan amable?
Muchas gracias

Hello. I have found the audio tapes on the Foreign Service web site, but not the movies? Could you tell me where to find them?
Seth,
Actually the only two videos available are the ones I made myself. They are posted on the Amharic page of this blog.
I plan to add more in the future when I have more time.
